Hey, I'm Daniela - and I'm fascinated by our earth. That's why I'm now studying geosciences - after having already completed my studies in the field of business administration-tourism.
I worked for a couple of years in a big travel company and I gradually noticed that one thing in particular bothers me: package tours are designed to consume, they are dull and you don't learn anything about the destination you are visiting. They are superficial.
But it's important to me that experiences are not superficial. I look for connection, meaning and purpose in things.
That includes travel. I want travelers to take an honest interest in their destination, the nature and the people there, and to make an emotional connection with them. This connection ensures that we have great, meaningful experiences that give us fond memories. It makes us want to respect, appreciate and support the destination and the people there.
In my eyes, such a connection is built through knowledge. Knowledge about the local landscapes, nature, climate, culture, language and history - and how all of this is connected very specifically in this small part of the world. Because knowledge creates understanding.
I hope that together we can contribute to more sustainable, respectful travel and protect our nature, our plants, animals and cultures.
By the way, I fulfilled my dream a few years ago and went to Hawai'i for a wonderful 4 weeks and I am very happy to share my enthusiasm and love for these islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with you.
All the love
Daniela
