Kahaluʻu Beach Park - Description

A small bay south of Kona, which has become a popular destination just for snorkeling and by its so colorful underwater world.

If you want to dive here and romp among all the fish in the sea, it is best to be there early and swim a little further out. First the approach to the water is very shallow and therefore safe for children, but then it quickly gets deeper.

In this coral reef you can spot green sea turtles, octopus, eels, yellow sailfin doctor, parrotfish, moon sicklefish and many more.

The beach itself is not so spectacular, but for snorkeling and diving it is one of the three most popular places on the island.

What we say

Tommy
In the underwater world you will almost certainly meet the Hawaiian Humuhumunukunukuapua'a, also known as the Diamond Picasso Triggerfish. The further you swim away from the bay, the more colorful the underwater world becomes.
