Spencer Beach Park - description

Half an hour's drive north from Kona International Airport, you will find the Spencer Beach Park. It is a reef protected bay with golden sand, shade trees and calm crystal clear water. Here are many amenities such as showers and toilets, lifeguards, free parking, a large lawn and picnic tables that make the stay very pleasant.

It is a wonderful place to spend a relaxing day at the beach with the whole family and let your soul dangle. Even the little ones can splash around in the shallow water or go snorkeling and explore Hawaii's colorful underwater world.

At Spencer Beach Park you can camp with a permit and feel totally safe, as it is the only camping spot on the island where a security guard also watches over night.

What we say

Tommy
A great family beach, where the otherwise rather rough sea of Hawaii is quite calm. The large trees directly on the beach provide enough shade, which you otherwise often have to look for.
Our checklist & tips:
  • Camping on the beach possible
  • Free parking available
  • Enjoy the sunset here
  • Pack provisions and drinks for picnics
  • Whale watching from the beach in winter
