Nānākuli Beach Park - Beschreibung

Nānākuli Beach is one of the top beaches on the west coast of Oahu. The sea is turquoise blue and crystal clear, the sand soft and white. There are breathtaking caves at the southern end of the beach, which are also known as the Mermaid Caves .

It is tempting to climb into the caves and dive there, but this should be done with caution and better left to the locals. Accidents are unfortunately not so rare. There are also places where people jump into the water from the cliffs; an activity in which you should well know the sea, the waves and your swimming skills.

With a little luck, you can also observe seals at Nānākuli Beach, but you should keep a certain distance.

Those who enjoy camping can also spend the night here with prior permission.

What we say

Tommy
In spring and winter, the beach is popular with surfers, while in summer and autumn the sea is calm and inviting for swimming. The caves are really impressive to see but should be enjoyed with caution.
Our checklist & tips:
  • Free parking available
  • Spectacular caves (Mermais Caves) within walking distance
  • You can see seals here if you are lucky
  • You can watch whales from the beach here during the winter months
