About half an hour's drive from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki Beach lies this beautiful, long, wide beach lined by white sand with azure waters. Here, you can find peace and quiet if you want to escape the busy city of Honolulu and spend a perfect beach day. You have a great view of Rabbit Island, as well as Diamond Head. The beach was used as a film set for Magnum P.I. and Baywatch Hawaii not without reason as a film set, because it is simply gorgeous here.
There are two main access points to the beach, one is at the south end and one is at the north end. The access in the south is Waimanalo Beach Park and is located opposite Nakini Street. All facilities (shower, toilet, picnic tables, pavilions and lifeguards) are located here. Access from the north end (between Aloiloi Street and Tinker Road) leads through an ironwood forest to the Waimanalo Bay State Recreation Area. There are also all facilities available as well as a possibility of camping on the beach (with permit).
