The large beach park near the city of Hilo is especially suitable for families, as the sea here is very shallow and the stone walls serve as breakwaters. The water depth of this protected water park ranges from about 1 - 5 feet, making it a real paradise for families. The park features a smaller sandy area, a large grassy area, and lava rock formations characteristic of Big Island.
