The long car ride from Honolulu to Keawa'ula Beach, the last beach on the northeast coast of Oahu, is worth every kilometre. Visitors can expect gigantic green overgrown mountains, an azure sea, great waves and soft white sand under their feet.
Many tourists go only as far as the Makua Beach. Therefore, it is very quiet here, there are few people on the road and you have this breathtaking scenery more or less to yourself. From the northern end of the beach starts the Ka'ena Point Trail.
If you need shade, it's best to pack a parasol for this excursion. If you like surfing, you can rent a board beforehand and if you just want to enjoy the sun or take a long walk, you'll also get your money's worth here.
It is also highly recommended to admire the sunset here.
