Hoʻopiʻi Falls sind 2 Wasserfälle entlang des Kapaʻa-Baches in der Nähe von Kapaʻa an der Ostküste von Kauai. Die Wasserfälle wurden als Drehort im Jurassic Park für die fiktive Stätte der „Mano de Dios Amber Mine“ in der Dominikanischen Republik genutzt.
It is not entirely clear whether the small walking trail that starts in the middle of the residential area crosses private property.
The short trail that leads to the waterfalls in about 30 minutes gives a view of large fields and the mountain ranges of Waialeale in the beginning. Goats graze in the pastures. Another untouched piece of nature for which Kauai has become so famous. Through fabulous forests and green-covered forest floors, you eventually reach Kapaa creek, which leads you to the waterfalls.
The "lower falls" are more spectacular than the "upper falls". Here, you can climb around the waterfall, take great photos and take a bath under the waterfall or in the pool where the river flows into. It is very quiet and peaceful here and perfect for a romantic picnic.
