Pohoiki Beach (Isaac Hale Beach Park) - Beschreibung

In the Puna District on Big Island, in Pohoiki Bay, lies the Isaac Hale Beach Park. It is known for its strong current and therefore a popular surfing spot for experts on the southeast coast.

At the only boat dock in the area, you can watch the hustle and bustle of the fishing boats. The boat ramp also serves many as an entrance and exit into the water.

Another highlight of the beach park is the small natural hot spring, where you can lie down like in a bathtub. It is located a few minutes walk from the boat ramp.

Directions: Drive on Highway 130 (towards the coast), at the end turn left to Pohoiki on Highway 137.
