Keawakapu Beach - Beschreibung

The many facets of Keawakapu Beach

A seemingly endless sandy beach with breathtaking sunsets. Keawakapu Beach impresses visitors with ideal conditions for swimming, snorkelling, surfing and also boogie boarding.

Visitors flock mostly to the northern and southern ends, with locals preferring the middle section. The long Keawakapu Beach glows with golden warm sand and it's not hard to find a spot, spread out a blanket and stretch out in the warm rays of the sun. The turquoise waters are perfect for swimming a few laps. At the northern and southern ends are reef formations, which are ideal for snorkelling. At both ends, there is a sandy part between the rocks, which provides easy access to the water.

In addition to that, the entire middle part is covered by the reef and it is not possible to swim from one end to the middle to return to the beach from there. Those who want to swim a long distance only have the option to swim from the northern to the southern end. In other places, there is no sand on the bottom to leave the water. For swimmers, these reef formations may be a disadvantage but for surfers, they provide perfect conditions. The powerful waves break on the offshore reef of the middle section of the beach, creating ideal waves for surfing. Keawakapu Beach is also popular for its breathtaking sunsets. Day after day, the sun sinks into the horizon as a ball of fire, bathing the sky and ocean in dazzling red-orange colours.

Parking info:

Visitor parking is available on the southern and northern sections.
